Pitching Instructor Michelle Harrison

BACKGROUND:

Michelle Harrison grew up in Southern California, the “hotbed” of fastpitch softball.  She played with such organizations as the Orange County Batbusters and Gordon’s Panthers.  Michelle was a left-handed, finesse pitcher, who utilized ball movement and speed variation to heighten her effectiveness.  She pitched for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers and won a Big-10 Championship against powerhouse Michigan in 1999 to advance to Regional appearance at UCLA.  The Gophers fell just short of a College World Series appearance.  Michelle went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in sociology from California State University, Fullerton.

Michelle enters her 13th year of experience in fastpitch instruction.  She began working with younger girls when she was still a player herself.  Her fastpitch instruction company, Strike Zone Sports, was created in 2006, and she now instructs on a full-time basis.

Michelle was a highly competitive player, whose intent was winning.  As an instructor, she is diversified.  She works with girls whose goals and abilities vary greatly, from those seeking NCAA Division I play time to those who participate for hobby.  As an instructor, Michelle focuses on the goals of each player to foster an environment to help them achieve their potentials.
